Tank, Kap...

This is indeed urgent! I need your graphics help!!!

I need to learn how to use my paintshop pro 7 to match pallettes so I can begin to standardize colors on the new hi-res GUI for FAF...

I dont understand pallettes, or how to adjust them.

The problem I have right now, is the color pallete I am currently using now has a certan shade of white that is transparent and it interferres with the font used in the font used in the loader screen, making part of the text transparent...

Any feedback or ideas would be extrememly helpful!

I hope kap knows some more about this than I do. I don't use PSP, but it should work the same way in most programmes.

You could try to find out the RGB value of the transparent white. It is probably the same RGB value of the transparent white in the skin textures. Replacing that colour with something which looks the same, but has a different RGB value, in the GUI screens should remedy the problem.

Pallats can be a pain in the butt and I dont have too much experiance either. Try this:

Open the image file with PSP ( send it to me if you can and mark the transparent color with an arrow if you can ) then go up to the top row of controls and click "colors" then select "set pallet transparency" then click the "set transparency value to pallet entry" then just move the cursor to the image and click on that color that you want to be transparent.
You can then save that pallet with an identifiable name. when you open another image, go to "colors" and "load Pallet" and choose the custom pallet you made and all the colors in the new image should match themselves to the custom pallet as close as possible.

If you dont know what your doing ( I dont lol ) this is all remarkably close to voodoo, but if you keep hacking away at it you'll probly get what you want.

Hope this helps at leaste a little.

Ok I have successfully edited the pallette of the image, but it has no effects...

I still get transparent white fonts. I even went into the font images and changed its transparency color to no avail... Evil or Very Mad

Jackpot! Found a good'ol way around it... heh...

I used a different image in the FATK as the basis for the new ordnance screen and simply pasted the graphics I wanted into it, and its existing pallette altered the tint slightly, but not so as you would notice, and no more font conflicts!

I can even use the this page for the campaign aircraft choose and repair screens without problems...

Its all good news here! Very Happy

Only about 10 more new screens left and we will have an entirely new highrez GUI ready to use! Smile
