Its about as good as I can get with the current limitations of the F-14 shape I am using from USNF97, which is superior by far, to the any other F-14 Shapes that will work in FA...

I heavily remodded the shape, changing most of the polygon layouts on the nose and canopy, plus reskinned it with a much larger texture file.

Unfortunately the vertical tail area is low resolution, so I could not use expanded skin area to cover the outside panel of the right tail and it remains a mirrored skin tail...

However this only effects it on the VF-111 version do to its use of embedded lettering on the graphic for the airwing id, showing those letters in reverse...

Did you look at this pic?

http://www.topedge.com/alley/images/f14a/f14a111ac.jpg

Its obvious its shark teeth and not tiger teeth...

Afterall, they working called the "Flying Sharks"!!

And BTW, the Flying tigers were not the first to decorate their aircraft with teeth, it was done on both sides in WWI...

SO the case could be made THEY stole the idea from the previous war! Wink

The A.V.G. has always said they were "sharks teeth" and that they stole them from African RAF units.
I'm quite sure VF-111 got the idea from the Flying Tigers or from someone who lifted the idea from the A.V.G.s Curtis planes. Lets put teeth on everything, no sense letting an historically recognised image get in the way of something cool. I've seen teeth on BUFFs, F-117s and C-130s. Let the historicle plagiarism roll on!

Turns out the A.V.G adopted the shark's teeth from Australian P-40s that already had the shark's teeth on them. Several of the "Flying Tigers" say they saw the pics of the Aussie P-40s and decided to use the same teeth...
