Airbrush Failure in XP Pro...

I cant seem to run Airbrush (latest version) in XP Pro. The program runs, but the screen display freaks out...

It cant be a resolution issues as I ran the same res in 98...

Any ideas??

I need the editor to continue doing shape edits...

What video card do you have? When I had my Radeon 7500 PCI airbrush would die and keel over. I got a new nVidia 5200 FX and I haven't had any problems, ran just fine.

The old version of airbrush also fails...

The screen is just a jumble of small square sections on a black background, like the menu has been chopped up,, compressed, and shaken in a can and thrown onto the monitor...

I just tried running it a few minits ago. The first time I tried it it would only give some sort of "wrong parameter" error message. But once I moved the "AB08b" folder out of the folder I had it in onto the desktop it ran just like it always did. I havent installed tha "M cache" thing so I just modded the MF1.sh that comes with the airbrush proggy. I changed some colors and saved it under a different name. That all went fine but I havent tried flying it. And it's not running in compatibility mode either, I just checked that. Might once again be an SP2 thing.

No I think its either a direct X version conflict or a video drivers conflict...

Going to have to do some heavy duty experimentation to determine a solution, if there is indeed one for such an old video card...

I have an old ATI Rage Fury AGP card that came with my old Dell if you want it, but it might have similar problems as what you have now.

I'm reasonably sure it's in a desk over at the storage lockers, I'll see if I can get it tommorow.

Hopefully this will solve the dispute with the shape color editor...

But I still no not understand why it is going on at all...

The way the screen looks, it looks like when you are in teh editor and alt tab out and then try to go back into it, all jumbled up like that...

But it looks this way from the very start... as if the res is all screwed up.

Very weird indeed...

Found another problem with using XP.. The NTFS system precludes successful editing of HUD files to expand the number of different huds futher in the sim...

This will have to be accomplished exclusively in Win98...
