Post subject: A little confused.... Reply with quote
My stepmom accidentally uninstalled FA today. I got back, got on, looked on my desktop, and realized the icon was missing. Now, I'm confused. I reinstalled F4 and 1.02, but I tried FAF 2003 (XP) and I got Wail32.dll is missing. It might be in the readme, but i can't seem to open it, due to a Runtime Error from Word. Any hints as to either of these problems?

No, that is a system dll installed with your FA...

You should have it in the FA directory. If you do not, let me know and I will email it to you...

It is not covered in the readme file...

Ok, I'll fix it after my track meet. Thanks!

Any ideas on the Microsoft Word error?

Nope, cant help you with that one... sorry.

Unless... what version of Word are you running? And have you tried opening it with Wordpad instead of Word?

dont know if this will work or not. I had a problem with Word and a friend told me to search for a file called "normal.dot" apparently it is the custom settings for your Word program and deleting it allows Word to make a fresh one ( kinda like our "EA.CFG" file in FA). I deleted it ( I suppose you can just rename it "xnormal.dot" and save it somewhere), re-booted and Word was ok again.

Ok, I found WAIL.DLL, but what do I do with it? Do I need another copy?

Is it WAIL.DLL or WAIL32.DLL?

You need WAIL32.DLL and it has to reside inside the FA folder...

It's Wail32.dll, and it's in the FA folder. But the installer for FAF still comes up with the error.

Hmm...Windows Word seems to like me today, but I have a question. Do I have to fly Korea? I liked the Gamereal patch, does FAF keep and improve its advances?

You mean Centurian's Library Series? Its a great library series, but...

If yo are asking if edit it, no we do not work on his patches, they are maintained by Cent himself...

BTW Korea is just the beginning...

Have you visited the FAF theater Forums yet?

Yep. I'm quite looking forward to the Baltic one, myself.
But I am currently having a blast in Vietnam. I'll reinstall FAF after I beat that...

SPARROWS ACTUALLY HIT!!!!!!!!!!!
I just wish the F-4J in Cent's library still had the gun pod.
