Question, if you use the AC-130 AI in a helo with door guns, will the helo fly the pylon turn and engage the target fro the side as the C-130 does?

perhaps also recon planes that use non damaging "weapons" to circle a target a few times "taking pics" before moving on.

I wonder, will my "Camera pod" in FAF do that now? Might be a good thing to add to the U-2s and the UAVs... But...

Is there an altitude limit? Question

Kap, have you been able to test an altitude limit for the pylon turn?

Or is this something I should be doing? Please let me know...

I still dont have FAF installed so I cant test your pod, but I can tell you that the higher the altitude the lower the number of "G"s available and so the turn radius would be much wider. I doubt that the AI has an alt limit for the pylon turns for the AC130AI setting. You'd just need to give the pod a long slant range and a long time between "shots".

This all sounds like very good news... long wide turns at high altitude would be more relaastic...

Altering the camera pod like you suggest is also a great idea!

We will have a much more realeastic scenario with this!!!!

Thanks Kap!
