I was going to say that it was that helo that evacuated the last americans from that rooftop before I saw the poll choices.
And murphy's law says the option I chose is wrong... _________________

Well...
There is a very good chance that you are correct...
After all the F-4 flew for nearly the entire way...
However, there is equally a chance that you are incorrect, since we are talking the last sortie...
However, just so you know, even if a chopper was listed, it would be a wrong answer...

I think the key here is "sortie" not last attack or whatever. _________________ FAF/FA-2 FM Wizard

Then I know what it is, and yeah the Mil channel was wrong as the last bomb dropping wasnt even by the plane that THEY said and not even the correct service arm _________________ FAF/FA-2 FM Wizard

You know, I dont think we have ever had a Poll where evey possible selection was chosen by voters!
This one is pretty diverse in opinions as well...

Hmmm... Looks like you went with the numbers...
More votes for the A-6 then any other aircraft...
But quantity doesnt mean quality!
You could be wrong....
Or you could be wrong...
I guess that gives a hint, huh?

Ok, it looks like this is it on this Poll...
No new votes for posts in quite awhile now...
So...
The answer is...
The F-14!!!!!!!
People forget that the F-14 flew in Vietnam in 1975 covering the Saigon evacuate with a combat air patrol over the city...
The F-14 only had one deployment to Vietnam, aboard USS Enterprise (CVAN-65) with CVW-14, which was made from 17 September 1974 to 20 May 1975. Even though VF-1 and VF-2 Tomcats flew combat air patrols over South Vietnam as part of Operation Frequent Wind, F-14s didn't score any MiG kills.
The following squadrons belonged to Carrier Air Wing 14:
VF-1 F-14A
VF-2 F-14A
So no one got this one right, as the only vote for the Tomcat was mine...
