Since the Forum Database was restored from an older backup we lost this poll. So I am going to relist it and try it again...
Which of these aircraft was the Most Produced Bomber of WWII?
Your choices are...
1. B-17
2. B-24
3. B-25
4. B-26
5. Lancaster
6. Wellington
Make your choice and then post your opinion on why you think it was the most produced bomber of WWII!!
Also make sure you scroll up and submit your vote in the poll at the top of the page, as some of you forget to actually place your vote!

Just a point of information for contention...
Wherever the B-24 served, so did the B-17, and vice-a-versa...

The Pilots would say its a toss up between the B-17 & Lancaster.
My personal favourite "heavy" is the B-29 although I have a sweet spot to the later versions of the Hailfax.
Of course the Douglas A-26 Invader rules the sky in my airforce.
I did a quick check and was surprised to find over 11,000 Wellingtons were made, compared to about 4000 B-26's.

Congrats on your 1st post Wedge, but unfortunately your post violated the rules of posting data about the Poll on the response string.
You are not suppossed to look up the answer or post data, these polls are suppossed to be about whether you can answer it off the top of your head of not, and if not what your best guess is...

He joined in September of 2004, which was when we 1st opened the forums!
I am guessing my email to all members about the new Poll pulled some of these guys out of the woodwork....

CAG
I voted before the data base problem, and that was for the B17. I now changed my vote when I remembered Ford and I think GM went into producing B24's.
Thank you for helping get back into the Wing again and again. I thought I was a goner!
Regards,
