I remember that the P-51 was manufactured by North American, the P-47 was nicknamed the razorback, the invader was the name of the B-26, the Lightning of the P-38. The P-51A I think was the apache I do believe.

WOW Great Logic!
But that doesnt mean you are right! ...
You can never expect the obvious in these polls!
So...
You could be right, but you could equally be wrong!!
Lets see what everyone else thinks!

yeah, seems like I remember Apache being tied to the razorback version of the P-51 before it got the bubble top canopy. I think it had a different engine too. _________________ FAF/FA-2 FM Wizard

Wasn't the P51 originally designated the A36 Apache? _________________ Fighters Anthology, FA18, F15, Falcon 4.0 w/FF3, B17: The Mighty Eighth, WW2 Fighters, CFS1/2, FS2002, USAF, Call of Duty, Halo, MOH:AA, Raven Shield, SWAT3, Rainbow Six.

I don't have a clue but i used yooper logic. The mustang is the name but that's kinda DA!!! The P-47 is the Jug or isn't it the Thunderbolt(which makes no sense) I think invader was given to a difernt Pursuit fighter. and the apache is used on a couple other aircraft. but i wwent with mustang. and as for lightning that is given to the P-38.but i think its nickname is Storm related. (thunder, lightning, hurricane, tit twister ) _________________ If you can read this.... than your eyesight is fine and you can stay on the computer. If you can't read it.... Oh you could indeed be right, but for all the wrong reasons...
But then again, you could be wrong, for all the right reasons!
Only the end of the Poll will tell!

Ok,
I guess this poll has gone on for long enough...
This time I reversed things and decided to not be tricky at all, though the majority of you did not seem to catch on to this...
The 'unofficial' name for the P-51 was and is the Mustang!
The 'Official" name was adopted for this aircraft from the British name...
Now the A-36 was named 'unofficially' named the 'Invader', but called the Apache by the British...
However the A-36 was never redesignated as the P-51... It was not a Pursuit Fighter and thus never received the P code... It was a dive bomber and received the Attack A code instead...
Therefore any name at any time applied to the A-36 is irrelevant...
So only myself, falcon500, and another mystery voter got this one right!
See I am so tricky, you never know if I will be even more sly by not being sly or tricky at all!
