Well Rad,

I see you have fallen into the "CAG's Tricky" trap and it looks like you also selected Texas...

Hmmm...

All I can say is, yes it was an American and not it wasnt a Brit or a Canadian...

But was it a Texan? Only time will tell! Twisted Evil

I fully confess I would never have had the guts to storm the beaches, I have nothing but respect for the Vets who pulled off that miracle <S

Honerable mention goes to the logistics weinies that made it even remotely possible to pull it off.

That entire generation did amazing things everyday of the war...

My father fought in this same area once the 3rd Army was activated under Patton...

I salute all of those guys, not knowing from one minute to the next if they would live or die in the air, on the ground or in and under the sea... <S>

I say Alabama, because it seems to be the most unlikely choice Wink

Well actually I guess you could say the 'first' soldier on the ground would be a German! Wink

But I will make it a bit more specific , what state was the first allied soldier (who just happened to be an American) on the ground on D-Day from? Mr. Green

'Ol Bama... The Crimson Tide! Could be... but then again... Laughing
