Your choices are...
1. MiG-3
2. MiG-15
3. MiG-17
4. MiG-19
5. MiG-23
6. MiG-25
Make your choice and then post your opinion on why you think it was the most produced Soviet Fighter!!
Also make sure you scroll up and submit your vote in the poll at the top of the page, as some of you forget to actually place your vote!

I picked the MiG-19 because the Chinese produced so many of them! _________________ Asst Forum Admin

I'll have to think about this for a while.
The 17 was the first GOOD jet fighter.
The 19 was the first true supersonic fighter plus had two motors and came along during the most intense Soviet expansion. Many nations at the time were also experiancing burgeoning budgets that could afford such a new plane. _________________ FAF/FA-2 FM Wizard

I chose the MIG 3 since it was produced during World War II, it must have been built on very large numbers. _________________

CAG
I vote for the MIG 15. It has been around along time and several countries have built it under license. Besides that, this is just a guess.

But I will not give away any hints just yet!

I'm gonna say the MiG-17 because I think many nations probly looked into the MiG-19 and even though they could afford it chose instead to buy the 17 in larger numbers. I also dont remember hearing of the 19 when I was a kid even though I was fairly familiar with the 15 and 17. _________________ FAF/FA-2 FM Wizard

I just checked the numbers. I wont say I'm right or wrong in the poll but I am stunned at the numbers I just saw, this plane in greater numbers than that plane etc.
CAG I dont know what your source is but when you announce the answer I'm gonna post a more comprehensive list cause it's kinda amazing. _________________ FAF/FA-2 FM Wizard

Kap,
Correct me if I am wrong, but my sources point to the correct aircraft's production numbers being roughly 3 times as high as its closest competitor in the poll...

I voted for the 17, but I would have thought the 21 would be the most produced. No historical background to justify that thought though, haha. |

My list doesnt even count liscenced production of the winner, but it is still close to twice that of number two which DOES count liscenced production!
Nice to see America is still on top though _________________ FAF/FA-2 FM Wizard
